22 gold bars seized at Sylhet airport

Customs Intelligence arrested a passenger along with 22 gold bars weighing 2.5 kgs worth around Tk 1.1 million from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Sunday.

The arrestee is– Sadikur Rahman Samu, son of Jalaluddin Abir, hailing from Pravakar village of Jagannathpur upazila under Sunamganj district.

Confirming the news, Osmani Airport Civil Aviation Security-in-Charge Md Nazrul Islam said: ” Tipped-off, 22 gold bars were seized by Custom Intelligence from a passenger, who landed Osmani International Airport by a flight from Dubai. The total weight of the seized 22 gold bars is 2.5 kilograms.”
