Narayanganj mosque blast: One more dies, death toll stands at 25

With the death of one more severe burn injured person at a mosque at Fatullah in Narayanganj on Sunday night, total death toll has jumped to 25.

Critically injured Abul Bashar Munna succumbed to his multiple burn injuries at night at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute while underwent treatment there, said the institute’s coordinator Professor Dr Samanta Lal Sen.

Professor Dr Samanta Lal Sen. said 25 people, including Abul Bashar Munna with multiple burn injuries have so far died in Paschim Talla mosque explosion incident. Besides, the condition of those who are undergoing treatment is not good. None of them is out of danger.

Several massive explosions at Baitus Salat Jame Mosque in Paschim Talla area of Fatulla under Narayanganj Sadar upazila at about 8:45pm on Friday (September 4) left more than 50 people seriously injured. Of them, 37 received multiple burn injuries throughout their bodies. They were admitted to Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. Of the injured, 25 have already died.
