Indian worker found dead at Rampal Power Plant

Police on Monday recovered the hanging body of an Indian worker from Rampal Power Plant in Bagerhat.
The deceased was identified as Probhat Kumar Singh, 37, son of Janak Kumar Singh of Gurudaspur Police Station area in India’s Bihar.
Police said the body was found hanging from a bamboo bridge at noon.
Rampal Police Station OC Nazrul Alam said police recovered the body and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital morgue. The body will be handed over to the deceased’s family on completion all legal procedure, he said.
Deputy Director of Rampal Power Plant Project Rezaul Karim said Probhat left the workers’ barrack inside the power plant after receiving a phone call at about 11.45pm on Sunday.
“Workers started searching Probhat this morning finding him absent there. Later, they saw the body hanging from a bamboo bridge outside the barrack,” he added.
Probhat joined the power plant project as a worker on August 18.
An unnatural death case has been filed with the police station.
