Sheikh Hasina-Narendra Modi virtual meeting Dec 17

A virtual meeting between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be held on December 17.

It was disclosed by Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen after Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Vikram Doraiswami made a courtesy call on him at the state guest house Padma in Dhaka early Sunday afternoon.

 

The meeting will be held virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will represent Bangladesh and India respectively at the meeting.

Besides, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to visit Dhaka on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary and golden jubilee of the Bangladesh’s independence on March 17 and March 26 next respectively.

The newly appointed High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami arrived in Bangladesh through the Indian state of Tripura border on October 5 last. He presented his credential to President Md Abdul Hamid on October 8.
