COVID-19: Country reports 17 death, 2,275 cases in 24 hrs

Health authorities also reported 1,709 more recoveries in a day, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,58,431.
With this, a total of 26,22,559 samples were tested in the country.
Among the newly deceased, 11 were men and six were women. Of them, 12 were from Dhaka, two from Rangpur, and one from Chittagong, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions respectively.
As of today, a total of 4,869 men (76.92 per cent) and 1,459 women (23.08 per cent) died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh.
The infection rate is 14.58 per cent in the last 24 hours, compared to the samples tested while the overall infection rate is 16.91.
So far, the recovery rate is 80.83 per cent and the mortality rate is 1.43 per cent.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
According to Worldometer’s COVID-19 data, the deadly virus has killed 13,67,533 people globally and infected 5,73,32,151 as of Friday afternoon.
