BD, India home minister-level talks held

The sixth home minister-level talks between Bangladesh and India was held in the capital where both the countries agreed to extend support in different bi-lateral issues.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh led their respective sides in the meeting.

In the meeting, the ministers focused on bi-lateral security, border management, information exchange and cooperation, according to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

While briefing journalists after the meeting, the home minister said: “Both countries agreed to exchange information to tighten the security. India also offered us to receive training from them in order to strengthen bilateral relation.”

“We emphasised on mitigating any issues between two neighbouring countries by dialogues,” he added.

Wrapping up the official visit here in Bangladesh, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to leave Dhaka this afternoon.
