Attack on Himchari security check-post, 2 shot dead

At least two persons were shot to death when they attacked a joint security check-post in Himchari on Thursday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the news, Cox’s Bazar ASP Afrajul Haque Tutul said: “The incident took place at a joint security check-post set up by the members of Rapid Action Battalion and Border Guard Bangladesh near marine drive early morning.

“Two miscreants riding a white private car opened fire on the law enforcers when they were signaled to stop, forcing the officers to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.”

“Both the miscreants received bullet during the gunfight. Later, they were declared dead by the doctors of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital,” he added.

Law enforcers have reportedly recovered some Yaba pills and firearms from their possession.
