Singer Guru Randhawa, Hrithik Roshan’s former wife Sussanne Khan, and cricketer Suresh Raina among others were recently arrested at a popular Mumbai club. After a raid was conducted at the five-star club, the celebs along with 34 other people were arrested on grounds of violating COVID-19 norms.

The celebs, who were later granted bail, were arrested at a club named Dragonfly, located at the Hotel JW Marriot in Andheri at around 02.30 am on Tuesday, December 22. As per a report by India Today, a senior officer of Sahar police station had confirmed the arrests.

Following this, a statement has now been released by Guru Randhawa’s management team. It reads, “Guru Randhawa, who had stepped out for dinner with close friends before returning back to Delhi the same morning, deeply regrets the unintentional incident that occurred last night.”

“Unfortunately, he was not aware of local authorities decision of night curfew but instantly conformed to all rules laid out by the government officials. He promises to compile with government guidelines and protocols by taking all precautionary measures in the future. By far, he has been a law-abiding citizen and will continue to do so in the future as well,” it states further.

Meanwhile, the arrests were made after the club was open beyond the permissible time limit and for not adhering to the COVID-19 norms imposed by the state. A night curfew in the municipal corporation areas in Mumbai was declared by the Maharashtra government as a precautionary step towards curbing the growing number of COVID-19 cases on Monday, December 21.
