A case under the Digital Security Act was filed against former DUCSU VP Nurul Huque Nur with Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi on Wednesday morning for allegedly hurting the people’s religious sentiment.
Towrid Al Masud Rony, Joint General Secretary of Jubo League’s Rajshahi city unit, filed the case around 11:30 am.

According to the case statement, Nur delivered provocative, fake and defamatory comments on social media and hurt religious sentiment on April 14.

Rony alleged that Nur in a Facebook live around 3:40 pm said “Real Muslims cannot support Awami League.”
“As an Awami League activist, I was shocked by ex-VP Noor’s statement,” he added.
The police station officer in-charge (OC) Nibaran Chandra Barman said a senior inspector has been appointed in this regard.
The video given by the plaintiff in a pen drive will be examined. If the allegation is proved, Nur will be arrested by contacting the concerned police station.
