Bogura Hospital to get nasal cannulas by Sunday: AG tells HC

The government will handed over 10 to 15 high-flow nasal cannulas to Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogura by tomorrow (Sunday).
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin told this to the virtual High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim on Saturday.
Earlier, a private television channel aired a report on the death of a coronavirus patient at Mohammad Ali Hospital on Friday night due to a lack of cannula. the Supreme Court lawyer Manzil Morshed informed the court about the matter through the registrar of the court at 11.00 pm on Friday, requesting to take urgent steps in this regard.
The court then asked the state to inform them about this after obtaining information about the matter. Following this, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin informed the court about the information.
About the matter, AM Amin Uddin told a national daily that, “I have talked to the director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). He said 10 to 15 high-flow nasal cannulas would be officially delivered to the hospital by Sunday. This information has been informed to the court.”
Lawyer Manzil Morshed said, “Seven patients infected with coronavirus have died due to the lacking of high flow nasal cannulas at Mohammad Ali Hospital in Bogura. Eight more patients are in critical condition. After watching the news broadcast on TV, I informed Justice M Enayetur Rahim through the Registrar General with a text message at around 11 pm last night.”
“The court asked the attorney general to look into the matter. Following this, the Attorney General informed the court about that information today,” he added.
