About 83 lakh people have left Dhaka till Sunday on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha. Countrywide strict lockdown will start again from 6 am on Friday. For this reason, only Thursday is remaining to return to Dhaka. A large number of people will have to return to Dhaka within a day after Eid. The passengers returning to Dhaka are suffering a lot.
Meanwhile, common people have to suffer a lot to buy and get bus and train tickets to return to Dhaka. This time most of the tickets are sold online so many are returning empty handed even after going to different bus counters.
Even though the train tickets were given online this time, many people did not get the tickets.
Md Momin, a Dhaka-bound passenger, said, “I don’t understand what is online. How do we cut tickets online again! And I didn’t get any ticket at the bus counter.”
Another passenger named Helal Uddin said, “I have been trying to buy ticket from online since the morning. I could not cut the train ticket in any way. But outside brokers are selling tickets. He asked me for the price of one ticket at Tk 500.”
Apart from this, many people have complained that even though there are some bus tickets, they are not being given.
One person, who did not want to be named, said that no bus ticket for Dhaka is being issued from the counter. “However, I found out that they have tickets and are selling them at a higher price.”
