A case was recently filed against Yo Yo Honey Singh aka Hirdesh Singh by his wife Shalini Talwar at New Delhi’s Tis Hazari court. The case was filed under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act.
Now it has come to notice that Shalini has sought Rs 10 crore compensation from the singer under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, saying she felt like a farm animal being subjected to cruelty.
According to a report by ZeeNews India, Shalini’s lawyer revealed that the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh has issued notice to Singh directing him not to alienate or create any third party rights in the property that is jointly owned by them in Noida or dispose of his wife’s jewellery.
Earlier, Shalini had said he was subjected to numerous incidents of physical, verbal, mental and emotional abuse at the hands of her husband and his family.
Notably, Honey Singh and Shalini have been married since 2011 following a decade-long relationship. However, it was only in 2014 that people got to know about Honey Singh’s marital status and the singer did not want marriage to come in the way of his career.
Turns out it was during this time when he had lost his calm on Shalini by “mercilessly beating” her up, as claimed by his wife. In her plea, she has mentioned how Honey Singh thought she leaked the wedding photos and “panicked and mercilessly beat her.”
Shalini has also claimed the singer had multiple extra-marital affairs and that during the shoot of Brown Rang De, he was sexually involved with one of his female colleagues as well.
