The DGHS has so far sent the data of ten suspected dengue deaths to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease, Control and Research for confirmation whether the deaths were due to dengue infections, but the IEDCR is yet to give confirmation, according to the DGHS statistics updated on Thursday.

Among the total hospitalised dengue patients of 3,901 since January, 3,757 patients have been hospitalised in Dhaka.

In five days in August, 1,243 dengue patients were hospitalised with the spread of the mosquito-borne viral infection amid the increase in Aedes mosquito menace during the monsoon.

A total of 2,836 people have so far recovered from dengue since January, said the DGHS report.
