Govt orders to shut clinics, blood bank at Muktijoddha Tower

The government has ordered to suspend all the activities of seven private clinics, diagnostic centres and blood bank in the capital for irregularities.

They have been asked to shut down their activities following complains of realising excessive amounts for diagnostic tests, keeping no certified doctors, and providing treatment to COVID and non-COVID patients in the same ICUs.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued the order on Tuesday (August 10).

At the same time, the private clinics, diagnostic centres and blood bank were showcaused asking why their licenses would not be cancelled.

It was stated in the order that various kinds of irregularities were found at six private clinics and diagnostic centres, and a blood bank situated at Muktijoddha Tower at College Gate, Mohammadpur in the capital during sudden visits on July 28.

On the basis of the irregularities, seven private clinics, diagnostic centres and blood bank have been asked to suspend all their activities and showcaused why their licenses would not be cancelled.

The names of the entities are:

1. Prime Orthopaedic and General Hospital and Digital Diagnostic Centre

2. Dhaka Healthcare Hospital

3. Remedy Care Limited

4. Life Care General Hospital

5. Jamuna General Hospital

6. Royal Multicare Specialty Hospital and Diagnostic Centre

7. Rajdhani Blood Bank and Transfusion Centre.
