Covid-19: 139 deaths, 4,804 cases recorded in 24 hours

One hundred and thirty-nine people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 25, 282 and the death rate stands at 1.73 percent.

At least 4,804 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of people infected to 14,61,998, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 15.16 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.9 percent.

A total of 31,689 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8:00am today).

At least 8,453 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 13,63,874 and the recovery rate at 93.29 percent.

Among the 139 deceased, 72 were men and 67 were women. Of them, three were between 11-20, two between 21-30, seven between 31-40, 19 between 41-50, 37 between 51-60 and 71 were above 60 years old, added the release.
