Film actress Pori Moni appeared at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday in a case filed by the RAB under the Narcotics Control Act.

Pori Moni appeared at the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder at about 12:30pm, said her lawyer Mujibur Rahman to reporters.

Earlier, a Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court ordered to submit investigation report. But, the judge fixed October 10 next as the IO could not submit investigation report on that day.

Earlier on August 22, Pori Moni’s lawyer Mujibur Rahman had appealed for bail in the court of KM Imrul Kayes. The court then fixed September 13 for the hearing.

As the date was fixed for a longer period, Pori Moni’s lawyers went to the High Court, seeking bail as soon as possible.

Following the High Court’s order, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayes adjourned the bail hearing to August 31 instead of September 13.

RAB arrested Pori Moni and her accomplice Dipu from Banani resident in the capital on August 4. At that time, different types of drugs were recovered from Pori Moni’s house.

The next day, on August 5, RAB-1 filed a case against Pori Moni and her accomplice under the Narcotics Control Act with Banani Police Station.

Later, Pori Moni was remanded for a total of seven days in three phases – 4-day remand in 1st phase on August 5, 2-day remand in 2nd phase on August 10 and one-day remand in 3rd phase on August 19. The actress is currently on bail.
