Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone: Big releases of B-town divas to look out for in 2022

With so many theatres and cinema halls opening, there seems to be a respite of the Hindi film industry to finally cater to cine-goers with lots of releases. While many celebs are now prepping for the release of their films that were postponed, there are also big-budget movies that film-buffs can look out for in the next coming months.

The year 2022 seems to be a treat for cinema-goers as many B-town divas such as Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Kangana Ranaut, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are going to set the screens on fire with their presence. Here’s a list of big-budget films that are releasing in 2022 starring all the top actresses of Bollywood you need to bookmark.

Deepika has several movies in the pipeline and is one of the busiest actresses in Bollywood. Apart from Shakun Batra’s untitled film co-starring Ananya Panday and Siddharth Chaturvedi, the actress will star in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan. Though the much-awaited film hasn’t been announced officially, Deepika revealed the same in an interview.

The actress has also started for Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter. Both Pathan and Fighter can be expected in the latter half of 2022.

Alia is all set to make her Telugu cinema debut with SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR. The epic drama is quite an anticipated film both by the Hindi and Telugu film industries. The movie will also feature Ajay Devgn. RRR will hit the theatres on January 7, 2022. Her film, by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, titled Gangubai Kathiawadi is also going to release on January 6, 2022.

Besides this, Alia will share the screen with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Akkineni Nagarjuna. Though the film’s final release date hasn’t been announced yet, it can be expected to hit the screens in 2022.

There are two major films in Katrina’s kitty which are set to release in 2022. She will feature in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, which is the third instalment in the series. The duo shot several scenes of the film in Turkey and Austria. The next one that fans can look out for is Phone Bhoot which stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter.

Although the filming for Takht hasn’t begun yet, Kareena will still entertain her fans in 2022 in Advait Chandan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Co-starring Aamir Khan and Naga Chaitanya, the movie will release on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022. The film is a loose adaptation of Tom Hanks’s Forrest Gump.

Just a while ago, Kangana created a storm with her fresh Dhaakad posters. While the film was set to release in October, it will now hit the screens on April 8, 2022.

Aishwarya’s next big-budget film is Ponniyin Selvan: I is being directed by Mani Ratnam. Besides Aishwarya, it has an ensemble cast consisting of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and Trisha. It is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs 500 crore and is expected to release in summer 2022.
