Bidisha visits ailing Raushan at hospital

Bidisha Siddique has visited ailing Jatiya Party’s chief patron and Leader of the Opposition in parliament Raushan Ershad now undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

Bidisha went to the CMH to see Raushan with her son Shahta Jarab Eric at about 11:00am on Sunday.

After meeting Raushan, Bidisha said: “Madam is very weak physically. She can’t talk properly. We’re beside her for some time. She has heard of me and Eric. I told her not to be worried about her son Shad. We’ll be with him.”

Earlier, Raushan was admitted to the CMH on August 14 last with the complications in her lungs. She was shifted to the VVIP Cabin of Officers’ Family Ward at the CMH from the ICU on August 25. Later, she was shifted to the ICU again. Raushan is not taking artificial oxygen now. Bidisha also paryed for the recovery of Raushan standing beside her.

Jatiya Party’s founder HM Ershad’s first wife Raushan has been holding the post of chief patron in the party. She also has been in the post of Leader of the Opposition in parliament for the second consecutive term. Her son Rahgir Al Mahi Shad (Shad Ershad) has won the parliament member in his father’s constituency.

Following Ershad’s death, his brother GM Quader became the party’s chairman. He has been holding the post of deputy leader of the opposition in parliament. In observance of Ershad’s death anniversary on July 14 last, son Eric declared her step-mother Raushan as the Jatiya Party’s new chairman.

Bidisha became active over posts in Jatiya Party owing to her marital relation with HM Ershad. But, she got disappeared due to her divorce with Ershad. Now, she wants to become active in Jatiya Party. But, Bidisha wants Jatiya Party’s reorganisation.
