SAAF Championship: Bangladesh beat Bhutan 2-0

Bangladesh football team started their South Asian Football Federation Championship (SAAF) mission with a 2-0 comfortable win against Bhutan.

The second match of SAAF Championship, between Bangladesh and Bhutan kicked-off at 7pm at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Tapu Barman took the lead for Bangladesh in the 3rd minute of the match from a penalty kick while in the second half, Mahbubur Rahman made the difference double for Bangladesh side.

Earlier in 2016, Bangladesh suffered a frustrating 1-3 goals defeat against Bhutan.

The 12th version of the seven-nation SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018 unveiled with the match between Pakistan and Nepal at 4pm on Tuesday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Hosts Bangladesh was placed in Group A of the biggest soccer festival of the region (SAFF Championship) with Bhutan, Nepal and Pakistan while holders India, the Maldives and Sri Lanka were placed in Group B of the seven-nation meet.
