Salam Murshedy sworn in as MP

Abdus Salam Murshed, who was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) uncontested from Khulna-4 constituency, took oath here today.

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath in the Parliament Complex while Parliament Secretariat secretary AEM Golum Kibria conducted the swearing-in ceremony, an official release said.

Whip Mohammad Shahabuddin, Mosammat Mahbub Ara Begum Gini, MP, former lawmaker Md Molla Jalal, Khulna Zilla Parishad chairman Sheikh Harunor Rashid and FBCCI director Md Habibullah Don were, among others, present on the occasion.

Murshedy was elected uncontested from the Khulna-4 (Rupsa, Terokhada, and Dighalia) constituency in a by-election scheduled to be held on September 20.

The Election Commission (EC) officially announced him winner on September 4 as no contender vied against him in the seat.
