Nani feels Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey is going to be a ‘very big hit’

Ever since it was announced that Shahid Kapoor has teamed up with Gowtam Tinnanuri for Jersey’s remake, fans have been eagerly waiting for the film’s release. The Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu movie, which starred Nani in the lead role, has also been titled Jersey. Sometime back the trailer of the sports drama was released online and it has got one and all excited.

Recently, Nani, who has been busy promoting his movie Shyam Singha Roy, opened up about the trailer of Shahid’s film and shared that he loved it!

Talking to Pinkvilla, the actor said, “I loved it. I think the soul is intact. Usually what happens with remake films is, it might have good production values, nicely shot and all that will be there, but sometimes the magic or the soul will be missing. But with the Jersey trailer, I absolutely loved it and I think it’s going to be a very big hit when it releases.”

The actor went on to share while he has not spoken to Shahid yet, he has been in touch with the film’s director. Nani shared that Gowtam calls him very often and shares how things are going with the Hindi release.

“Once he locked the edit, he called me and he was very happy with it. Couple of times he came on Shyam Singha Roy’s set too and showed me pictures from there, Jersey’s locations and all. So I think the film will do really well,” the actor added.

Apart from Shahid, the sports drama will also star Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in key roles. The film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films. In Jersey, Shahid will be seen in the role of a cricketer. The movie is set to release this month.
