PM returns home after participating in UNGA meetings

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday (today) returned home from New York via London after wrapping up her a week-long official visit to the United States.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to New York to attend the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). She had reached London on Sunday morning on her way back home from New York.

Sources said a VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage members landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9.20 am today.

On September 27, she addressed the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York and had a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

She also held bilateral meetings with Dutch Queen Maxima, Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the sidelines of the UNGA.

The prime minister has left home for New York on September 21 to attend the 73rd UN General Assembly.
