South Asian Table Tennis: Bangladesh beat Pakistan, Maldives

Bangladesh earned convincing wins against Pakistan and the Maldives on the first day of the South Asian Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championship that began on Monday in the Maldives capital Male.

In a league basis competition, Bangladesh beat Pakistan by straight 3-0 sets in the first match and defeated hosts Maldives by 3-1 sets in the day’s 2nd match.

In the next two matches, Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka and Nepal, informed vice president of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation Khondakar Hasan Munir from Male, UNB reports.

After the day’s matches, Sports Minister of the Maldives congratulated the Bangladesh team for their feat.
