Fizz retained by Delhi Capitals

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been retained by IPL outfit Delhi Capitals on the deadline day for releasing players ahead of the 2023 IPL auctions.
The left-arm quick was roped in by Delhi Capitals in last edition’s auctions for INR 2 crore. Mustafizur appeared in eight games for the franchise during the last edition, bagging eight wickets.
Delhi, who finished fifth in IPL 2022, did not make wholesale changes, retaining most of their players including David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Prithvi Shaw along with pacers Anrich Nortje, Chetan Sakariya and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. The side, led by Rishab Pant released Shardul Thakur, Tim Seifert, Ashwin Hebbar, KS Bharat and Mandeep Singh ahead of the auctions and still have two overseas slots remaining.
Meanwhile, the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians have released more than 10 players each on deadline day with Sunrisers releasing captain Kane Willamson being one of the notable exclusions.
