Maritime university gets new VC

The incumbent Chairman of Mongla Port, Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, has been appointed as the new vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Education, President Abdul Hamid, also chancellor of the university, appointed him for the next four years.

He will replace the outgoing VC Rear Admiral (Retd) M Khaled Iqbal.

Rear Admiral Musa has an outstanding naval career of 38 years with the highest-rated professional record in command, staff, and instructional appointments both in Armed Forces, National and International level, said a press release. He has commanded 6 warships, including the Flagship of Bangladesh Navy.

He performed as Directing Staff at National Defence College. Admiral has four masters (International Relations, English Literature, Business Administration and Security Studies), MPhil and PhD on Maritime Governance.
