British tv host,Bear Grylls retires, will be living in ‘wilderness’ with family

British television host, Bear Grylls best known for his show “Man vs. Wild” on Discovery Channel, announced his retirement from television. The announcement was made from his official Facebook account today.

“This has been a hard decision to make but I feel it is the right time to do it. As the world gets ever more volatile, I always knew I wanted to act early – before it is too late. On that note, I have moved with my family to an undisclosed wilderness location,” he wrote.

He also stated that he was taking the preparation to move with his family into wilderness for a long time. The factors he considered was— his children’s continual education with a focus on practical skills and sustainability of resources – and scale-able equipment for survival, hunting, medicine, communication and nutrition.

 

“This will be the last post on this platform. Those close family and friends will receive an email tomorrow that will be our only form of communication. Please keep that email address confidential,” he added.

Bear Grylls made headlines after embarking in a variety of adventures in the wild, and later rose to fame for hosting television programme “Man vs. Wild” from 2006 to 2011. He also hosted US and UK television programmes including “The Island with Bear Grylls” and “Running Wild with Bear Grylls”.
