BNP leaders visit Khaleda on Eid day

Senior leaders of the BNP met party Chairperson Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan home and exchanged Eid greetings tonight.
After the meeting, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists that Khaleda asked the people to continue to work the way they have for democracy.
The BNP leader said that they met the party chief after a long time and the former premier wanted to know about the current situation of the country and future plans. “We informed her about these things.”
Fakhrul said after a few years, Khaleda observed a different Eid this year as her daughter-in-law Sharmili Rahman and her two granddaughters Zafia Rahman and Zahia Rahman observed Eid with her.
Sharmili, widow of Khaleda’s younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, with her two daughters visited Khaleda at her residence and spent the entire day with her. Khaleda’s sister Selima Rahman and brother Shamim Iskandar met her around moon.
Party’s sources said that Khaleda’s physicians also visited for her regular check up.
The BNP chief was convicted and imprisoned in a corruption case in 2018.
She was released in March 2020 under an executive order and on the condition that she would not leave the country and must receive medical treatment in the country.
