Stay clear of Sudan

Bangladeshis are advised not to travel to Sudan as the country at this time is not safe, said the foreign ministry.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed in armed conflicts in the African country since April 15.

Food and other essential supplies have been affected because of the clashes in Khartoum Airport and various other parts of the country.

“Therefore, all Bangladeshi citizens are being advised not to visit Sudan until further notice. Bangladesh embassy there is advising our citizens there towards this end,” said a foreign ministry statement today.

As of 21 April, at least 413 people have been killed and 3,551 have been wounded in the unrest, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The 2023 Sudan conflict is an ongoing armed conflict between rival factions of the military government of Sudan. It began on 15 April 2023, when clashes broke out across the country, mainly in the capital city of Khartoum and the Darfur region.
