Bangladesh’s first warm-up game ahead of the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup against the USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas has been cancelled due to bad weather, confirmed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

“This is to confirm that the warm up match between Bangladesh and the USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas today has been cancelled due to the conditions of the facilities following the adverse weather that has affected the area,” said the BCB.

The match, which was supposed to begin at 9:30 pm Bangladesh time, was the first of two ICC mandated warm-up games for the Tigers for the T20 World Cup, which is set to begin on June 2.

Bangladesh had recently played a three-match T20I series against the same opponents and suffered an embarrassing 2-1 series defeat.

The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led team will next play India in their second and final warm-up game ahead of the T20 World Cup on June 2.

Bangladesh will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on June 8.
