Yunus lauds CPD’s role in policymaking on its 30th anniversary
The chief adviser of the interim government and CPD trustee member, Professor Muhammad Yunus, today lauded the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) for its independent stance and contributions to policymaking in the national interest.
In a video message played at a programme commemorating 30 years of CPD, held at the BRAC Centre Inn in Mohakhali, Prof Yunus highlighted its reputation both locally and globally.
“CPD has been known as a reputed think tank at home and abroad in its long journey of 30 years. It has consistently stood against the tide, offering independent advice to policymakers for the betterment of the country,” Yunus said.
Reflecting on his own efforts to alleviate poverty and improve the lives of common people, he said that CPD’s work often mirrored his mission.
“The organisation has always strived to establish a democratic, just, and accountable society,” he added.
Yunus also credited CPD’s research and public awareness activities with influencing recent mass movements among students and citizens.
He underscored the organisation’s vital role in fostering public discourse and shaping national policies.
Expressing hope for the future, Yunus said, “I believe CPD will continue to make significant intellectual contributions in the years to come.”
