‘Daagi’ to surely leave a mark: Tama Mirza

Tama Mirza, who earned the National Film Award for her performance in the movie “Nodijon”, has appeared in numerous films, winning the hearts of audiences. Moreover, she has received critical accolades for her work in the OTT space.

Tama Mirza’s most notable work remains the film “Surongo”. Following a break, she is preparing to start shooting for a new project. In just a few days, production will begin on “Daagi”, directed by Shihab Shaheen.

Tama Mirza and Afran Nisho notably collaborated for the first time in the hit “Surongo”. Now, the duo is set to reunite in the upcoming movie “Daagi”.

The final preparations are in full swing, with Tama Mirza and the rest of the cast deeply involved in rehearsals.

 

Speaking about the process with The Daily Star, the actress shared, “I’ve been rehearsing for nearly a month. I’ve never dedicated this much time or effort to preparations and rehearsals for a film before.”

She further shared, “This is my first time working with Shihab Shaheen bhai. He is an excellent director and a true visionary. Everyone speaks highly of his work, and now I have the opportunity to be part of the film ‘Daagi’ under his direction.”

“The rehearsals are being conducted meticulously to ensure the work looks exceptional on camera. The director is putting in great effort, and the team is also dedicating their time fully,” she explained.

“Nisho bhai is already a renowned actor. I worked alongside him for the first time in ‘Surongo’. ‘Daagi’ marks our second collaboration, and I believe something great is in store with this project.”

“It is a big-budget film with a well-formed story — and we are preparing everything with that in mind. I hope to start shooting soon,” she said while speaking about the movie.

When asked about the delay in taking on a new film, Tama Mirza responded, “It is worth waiting for something valuable and I was anticipating a worthwhile project. Quality work is what sustains an artiste’s legacy, as audiences always remember exceptional performances.”

Talking about her aspirations in cinema, she said, “I have a deep passion for cinema. The audience’s love for my work has been overwhelming so far. I am hence sincerely pursuing my dream of building a career by acting in meaningful and impactful films.”

In response to being asked about the possible impact of “Daagi”, she responded, “I believe it will leave a mark on people’s minds by earning their affection.”

In conclusion, she communicated, “Right now, all my thoughts are focused on my new film. ‘Daagi’ is all that I am thinking about.”
