Several prominent celebrities tied the knot in 2024 — some making spontaneous announcements, while others had previously revealed details before their big day. However, the year also witnessed its fair share of divorces alongside the joy of weddings.

After years of dating, actress Mousumi Hamid married screenwriter Abu Sayeed Rana on January 12. Her gaye holud ceremony took place on January 10, followed by an intimate wedding two days later.

Popular TV actor Farhan Ahmed Jovan made a surprising announcement about his marriage on January 12. His wife, Sajin Ahmed Nirjona, is a student at a private university. The couple knew each other for a while, and the marriage was arranged with the approval of both families.

Actors Nazia Haque Orsha and Mostafizur Noor Imran revealed on January 14 that they tied the knot, sharing that their wedding had been a private ceremony held three months prior.

TV presenter and actress Mousumi Mou made headlines with her marriage to Arif Billah on January 23. However, the marriage quickly hit rough waters. Just six months in, Moushumi Mou filed a dowry case against her husband, leading to their divorce, which was finalised on June 1.

Actress Tanzika Amin wrapped up the year’s celebrity wedding list by marrying Saif Basunia on December 6. Saif has been living in Sydney, Australia, for over 25 years. The couple first met in 2018, and their friendship eventually blossomed into love.

On December 16, Sharmin Zoha Shoshee, widely recognised for her role as Tuni in the film “Hajar Bochor Dhore”, married Khalid Hossain Ovi, a media professional associated with Broadcasting Media and Company.
