BAFTA 2025: Indian films bag 4 nominations, ‘Emilia Perez’ and ‘Conclave’ lead the pack
The nominations for the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards have been revealed, marking a historic year for Indian-origin talent. Indian actors and filmmakers received nominations across several prestigious categories. The list was announced by actors Mia McKenna-Bruce and Will Sharpe on Wednesday.
Leading the charge, Payal Kapadia’s “All We Imagine As Light” has been recognised in the Best Film Not in the English Language category, a significant achievement for Indian cinema on the global stage.
Additionally, “Santosh” by Sandhya Suri and “Sister Midnight” by Karan Kandhari were both nominated in the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer category, showcasing the range and diversity of Indian talent.
Adding to the celebration, Dev Patel, an Indian-origin filmmaker, also earned a nod in the Outstanding Debut category, further establishing the presence of Indian voices at this year’s awards.
