Idhika Paul and Dev pair up again
“Priyotoma” famed actress Idhika Paul earned praise for her recent venture “Khadan”, which marked her debut in Tollywood. In this project, she worked opposite Dev, and the film has taken the box office by storm. The song “Kishori” from the film has even become a sensation among listeners.
As per reports, Idhika has signed up for a second film with Dev, titled “Raghu Dakat”, even before the excitement surrounding “Khadan” simmered down. This film, which will be directed by Dhrubo Banerjee and Produced by SVF, will also feature another Tollywood actress, Sohini Sarkar.
However, the roles of Idhika and Sohini have not yet been revealed. The film’s announcement ceremony is set to take place during Saraswati Puja. Although the project was announced four years ago, shooting had been delayed due to various reasons. Apart from West Bengal, “Raghu Dakat” will also be filmed in Maharashtra. It is scheduled for release in cinemas during this year’s Durga Puja.
Earlier, in 2022, Idhika made her big-screen debut with the Bangladeshi film “Priyotoma”, directed by Himel Ashraf, starring opposite Shakib Khan. Their on-screen pairing was a massive success, leading to growing interest from West Bengal’s film producers.
Recently, Idhika completed shooting for the “Borbaad” in Mumbai, which reunites her with Shakib Khan after “Priyotoma”. According to Idhika, some scenes of the film, directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, are yet to be shot. “Borbaad” is set for release during Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
Idhika Paul first stepped into acting through the popular Zee Bangla television serial “Rimli”. She later won audiences over with her natural acting skills in another well-loved Zee Bangla serial, “Pilu”, where she played the second lead character, Ranja. Since the conclusion of “Pilu”, the actress has not appeared in any other television series.
