What happens when love turns into obsession? When someone you cherish begins to drift away, do you let them go, or does your world spiral into chaos? These questions lie at the heart of Vicky Zahed’s upcoming psychological love story, “Neel Shukh”, set to premiere on Binge on February 18.

The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into the intense love story of Orpa (Mehazabien Chowdhury) and Maruf (Farrukh Ahmed Rehan), capturing moments of romance, heartbreak, and an unsettling psychological undercurrent.

A striking moment in the trailer references “Apur Sansar” (The World of Apu), as Maruf asks, “Orpa tomar chokhe ki ache boloto? (What do you have in your eyes)” to which she replies, “Kajol.” This nostalgic nod sets the tone for a film that intertwines love, longing, and psychological turmoil.

Maruf and Orpa had been bound by fate since childhood, with their families arranging their marriage long before they understood love. Their bond flourished naturally, making them they were destined for each other. However, their journey takes a dark turn when they begin experimenting with hallucinogenic substances. In a tragic twist, Maruf, under the influence, injures Orpa, leaving her with an impaired foot.

Following the incident, Maruf is sent away to London, severing all communication with Orpa. Struggling with sudden abandonment, Orpa descends into depression. Her world, once centred around Maruf, shatters as she finds herself ensnared by her love for him, desperate for closure. Will she fight to reclaim what she lost, or will she seek revenge for the pain and suffering she has endured?

Vicky Zahed, known for his signature blend of romance and psychological horror, introduces the story of “Neel Shukh”. As the story unfolds, viewers will be left questioning the fine line between love and obsession, devotion and destruction.
