Popular actor Afran Nisho surprised fans by lending his voice to the title track of his upcoming Eid release “Daagi”, marking his first-ever playback performance in a film.

The powerful track, released online today, features lyrics by Rasel Mahmud and composition by Arafat Mohsin Nidhi, with Nisho singing select parts.

Nisho revealed that the idea came unexpectedly from producer Shahriar Shakil. He shared, “One day, our producer Shahriar Shakil played me a demo of the song and asked what I thought. I said it was catchy and powerful. Then came the unexpected question — ‘What if I sang it myself?'”

Written from the perspective of an outcast, the song reflects the core theme of the film. Composer Arafat aimed to set a bold, rebellious tone, while lyricist Rasel drew inspiration from Kazi Nazrul Islam.

Directed by Shihab Shaheen and produced by SVF and Alpha i Entertainment in collaboration with Chorki, “Daagi” has received a universal censor certificate.

The cast includes Tama Mirza, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Gazi Rakayet, Mili Basher, Rashed Mamun Apu, and A.K. Azad Setu, among others.

The story, screenplay, and dialogues were penned by its director, Shihab Shaheen. Filming took place in Saidpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka.
