Khoka’s body likely to reach Thursday

The body of the prominent freedom fighter and also the last mayor of undivided Dhaka Sadeque Hossain Khoka is likely to be brought back to the country from New York on Thursday.

According to Khoka’s son Ishraq Hossain, possibly they will reach in Dhaka on Thursday morning by a flight of Emirates Airlines.

Head of the passport and visa wing of Bangladesh Consulate in New York Shamim Hossain said: “The family members of Khoka applied for the travel permit. We will be trying to make the whole process of travel permit.”

Sairul Kabir Khan, an officer of the BNP chairperson’s press wing, said: “He will be laid to rest in Jurain graveyard.”

Sadeque Hossain Khoka has passed away while undergoing treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York at 1:40 pm (Bangladesh Time) on Monday
