Air chief adorned with Air Marshal rank badge

A ceremony marking the adorning of rank badge of new Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Thursday.
In the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief of Army Staff GeneralAbu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Huq and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed adorned the new air chief with the rank badge of Air Marshal, reports the BSS.
After the function, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated the new air chief.
The premier, he said, also mentioned that her government has taken various steps to build modern and time-befitting armed forces to safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty.
Prime Minister’s Security Affairs Advisor Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Principal Secretary Md Nojibur Rahman, Defence Secretary Akhtar Hossain Bhuiyan, Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lt General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, PM’s Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin and PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hasan were present, among others.
Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Masihuzzaman Serniabat took over the command of BAF from the outgoing Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Abu Esrar at a ceremony at Chief of Air Staff’s secretariat on Tuesday.
Masihuzzaman Serniabat has been appointed as the new Chief of Air Staff for a three-year tenure from June 12, an ISPR release said.
