‘Muggers kill’ auto-rickshaw driver in Gazipur

An auto-rickshaw driver was killed reportedly by muggers in Meghdubi area of Gazipur early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Rasel Chowkider, 25, a resident of Haydrabad area.

Gazipur Sadar Police Station inspector (operation) Md Jahangir Alam said locals spotted the body near a road in the morning and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body, said the inspector.

According to police, Rasel might have been strangulated to death by muggers who had snatched his vehicle. The victim’s hands and legs were tied up with rope.
