Public transport to remain suspended until Apr 11

The operation of public transport will remain suspended until April 11 aiming to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Roads and Highways division informed this on Saturday.

Emergency services, fuel, medicine, vehicles carrying perishable goods and relief materials will remain out of the purview of the restriction.

Earlier, the government had suspended bus, train and launch services until April 4.

Meanwhile, two more people died from coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to eight, according to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
