Entire Bangladesh declared at risk of COVID-19 pandemic

The government has declared the entire Bangladesh at risk of the coronavirus pandemic as the infection has now spread across the country.

Professor Abul Kalam Azad, director general of the Health Directorate, issued a circular in this regard this afternoon.

It said: “Bangladesh has been declared at risk of infection under the Infectious diseases (Prevention, Control and Elimination) Act 2018.”

“It will not be possible to control the spread of the virus if physical distancing cannot be ensured,” the notice added.
