Actor Saibal Bhattacharya attempts suicide after sharing video on Facebook

Bengali actor Saibal Bhattacharya attempted suicide at his Kolkata home, as per the reports. The actor, who is known for his role in the Bengali serial Prothoma Kadambini, reportedly tried to kill himself. He has also shared a video on Facebook where he can be heard saying that he “was forced to take it” in his own hands. He is currently in critical condition.

As per the reports in local media, Saibal was suffering from depression and also struggled with substance abuse. According to reports, he was upset with his professional life as he was not getting work. Reportedly, the actor hit himself with a sharp object on Monday (August 8).

According to a report in Anandabazar Patrika, Saibal was allegedly found at his Kasba home in South Kolkata before being admitted to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital.
