Advocate Misbah Uddin: Continue Sylhet’s development with Awami candidate

Bangladesh Awami League’s Organizing Secretary Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj said the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina has taken extensive plans for the development of Sylhet as a tourist city. Hazrat Gazi Burhan Uddin’s shrine complex has been completed. A comprehensive plan for the development of the Hazrat Shah Jalal’s shrine has also been adopted.
The prison is being shifted. In its place a modern park will be developed. It will have all the facilities like a developed country. Streets will be broadened. All this is being done by the Prime Minister’s personal interest.
Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj was speaking on 17 July at Dilchad restaurant, East London at a luncheon meeting with Bengali press & media to exchange views.
President of UK Awami League Sultan Shariff presided over the meeting and Office Secretary Shah Shamim Ahmed conducted the meeting. Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj also said that the former Mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran has been nominated for the Sylhet city corporation election by the Prime Minister to continue Sylhet’s development.
Misbah Uddin Siraj expressed gratitude to the UK Bengali community and said expats contribution in the great freedom struggle is remembered by the nation in gratitude. Following 1975 coup Sheikh Hasina found safe haven in London. After being elected Bangladesh Awami League’s president she went to Bangladesh from the UK. Today that leader has made the country into a developing nation. Expats are part of that achievement. He further said Bangladesh today is the role model of development in the world under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
In his address, Sultan Mahmud Shariff said that Awami League has been working to implement Bangabandhu’s ideals and everyone will have to come forward under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, and everyone will have to extend support from abroad to elect Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran as the Mayor of Sylhet. UK Awami League General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Faruk we must work to elect Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran in Sylhet to strengthen Sheikh Hasina’s hand.
