Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa’s streaming rights bought by Amazon Prime Video for Rs 22 crore?

Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise came and ruled the box office, as everyone expected. The film, directed by Sukumar, features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Not just at the global box office, but the film has also been doing wonders with its Hindi version.
The movie is still running in the theatres but its digital premiere is set to happen today. Yes, Pushpa: The Rise will now stream on Amazon Prime Video and the announcement of the same was made earlier this week.
The official Twitter page of Amazon Prime Video made the announcement for the movie’s digital premiere. Their tweet read, “He’ll fight. He’ll run. He’ll jump. But he won’t succumb! Watch #PushpaOnPrime, January 7. In Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.”

Meanwhile, as per a report published by Mirchi9, Amazon has bought the streaming rights for Pushpa: The Rise for a whopping Rs 22 crore. It is also being said that this amount could be even bigger had the makers not sold the streaming rights before the film’s theatrical release.
The Telugu action thriller had its theatrical release on December 17, 2021. Pushpa: The Rise was also released in dubbed versions including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada languages. The film has crossed over Rs 300 crore at the global box office and its Hindi version is close to collecting Rs 70 crore.
Apart from Allu Arjun and Rashmika, the movie also stars Fahadh Faasil in a key role and Sunil, Dhananjaya, Ajay Ghosh, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Rao Ramesh in supporting roles. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the film’s score and soundtrack while the cinematography and editing have been performed by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and Karthika Srinivas–Ruben respectively.
