Anushka Sharma to play Sita in Om Raut’s Adipurush starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan?

One of the biggest films of next year is Om Raut’s Adipurush starring Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan. It has now been reported that the makers are hoping to cast Anushka Sharma as Sita.

Anushka to play Sita in Adipurush?

  • After announcing Prabhas as Adipurush, Lord Ram and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Raavan, Om Raut has reportedly zeroed in on an actress to play Sita

  • It has been reported that she will begin the shoot two months after her delivery, however she is yet give her nod for the role

Om Raut made his Hindi film debut, earlier this year with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan and Kajol in the lead, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. Post the film’s massive success, Om Raut announced an action film with Kartik Aaryan. However, last month that movie was put on hold and instead, the big budget magnum opus Adipurush was announced.

What made the movie even more interesting was that it stars Prabhas in the titular role of Lord Ram. Later, Saif Ali Khan, who nailed his act in Om’s own Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was roped in to play Lankesh, Raavan.

For almost ten now, it has been speculated that Anushka Sharma have been in talks to star in the film in the lead role of goddess Sita. A recent report even went on to reveal further details about Anushka’s supposed casting in the film.

As per Pinkvilla, Anushka is the top choice for the makers for the lead role in the film. However, she hasn’t been signed on yet. While the makers are keen on casting her, Anushka is yet to come on board.

It was also speculated recently that Kiara Advani may play the lead role opposite Prabhas. I guess we will have to wait for the official announcement.
