Ayan Mukerji is all praise for Mouni Roy’s performance in Brahmastra after she was trolled

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s much-anticipated film Brahmastra‘s trailer will drop on Wednesday (June 15). Ahead of the trailer launch, Ayan Mukerji revealed that Mouni Roy will be having a ‘special appearance’ in the film. He went on to praise her for her ‘performance’ and claimed that once the film is released, people will talk about her role as Junoon in the sci-fi film. He further went on to call her a ‘surprise package’.

The praise comes after the makers dropped the teaser of the film and introduced Mouni’s character. However, she was brutally trolled for her appearance and many compared her look with the one she had in the Naagin series while others called her ‘sasti Wanda’ aka Scarlet Witch from The Doctor Strange 2.

Taking to Instagram, the director dropped a motion poster of Mouni as Junoon and penned a beautiful note which read, “A lot of people, I think, are going to walk out of Brahmāstra, talking about Mouni’s Performance as Junoon. Moun – who has deep belief and deep surrender for Lord Shiva – has always understood Brahmāstra very naturally – and with that understanding, she really killed it with her part in our movie!”

“My first meeting with her, I offered her a ‘special appearance’ in Brahmāstra. Eventually she shot with us from our first day to our last schedule, and is really, the surprise package in the film,” he added.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra trailer will release on June 15 in five regional languages – Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotel roles.

Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva will release in theatres on September 9, 2022.
