Bangladesh Army gets first female major general

Bangladesh Army got its first female Major General since independence.

Susane Giti, an army medical corp professor, has been adorned with the rank of a major general with the presence of Army chief General Aziz Ahmed and Quarter Master General of Army Shamsul Haque at the Army Headquarters today.

Major General Susane Giti Passed MBBS in 1985 from Rajshahi Medical College (RMC).

In 1986, she joined Bangladesh Army Medical Corp as a Captain.

In 1996, Susane became the first Bangladeshi woman to receive her FCPS degree in Haematology.

Major General Susane Giti, a Haematology specialist, who performed her duties in numerous United Nations peacekeeping missions, is currently enrolled as the head of  Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP).
