Bangladesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nepal to start the process of importing hydro-electricity from Nepal.

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid and Nepal’s Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun have signed the MoU for both countries today.

The MoU was signed in a ceremony of Energy, Water and Irrigation Ministry in Nepal.

After signing the MoU, Nasrul Hamid said: “The two countries need to increase cooperation for development. This cooperation is needed in all areas including electricity and communication.”
