Bangladesh’s SAAF mission ended losing to Nepal 0-2

The SAAF Championship mission of Bangladesh ended with a defeat to Nepal by 2-0 goals in their last group-stage match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Saturday evening.

Nepal got the first goal at 33rd minutes of the game as Bangladeshi goalkeeper Sahidul Alam failed to tackle forward Bimal Magar’s left-footed long-range free kick shot from the right flank while in the 90th minute Nepal made the goal difference double with the goal of Nawayug Shrestha.

With this win, from Group A, Nepal confirmed semifinal becoming group A champion with group runner-up Pakistan.

Earlier in the first match of today, Pakistan got the ticket of semifinal becoming Group A runner-up by beating Bhutan 3-0.

Nepal and Pakistan managed to play in the semifinal, superseding Bangladesh by goal difference as both Nepal and Pakistan scored 7 and 5 goals and consumed 2 goals each respectively.

Bangladesh eliminated from the 12th version of the seven-nation SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018, scoring 3 and consuming 2 goals.

In the Group A, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal each earned 6 points with two wins and one loss in their 3 matches.
