Bangladesh’s virus death reaches 5,681 with 21 more fatalities

The country has recorded 21 more deaths from COVID-19, raising the total tally to 5,681.
In last 24 hours, the positive cases reached 3,90,206 as 1,637 more people tested positive for the virus.
Of the deceased, 14 were male persons and seven were female. Twenty of them died in different hospitals while one at home.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, on Monday afternoon.
In the past 24 hours, 15,147 samples were tested in 106 labs across the country. With this, total 21,78,714 samples have, so far, been tested in the country.
The recovery number stands at 3,5,599 as 1,627 more patients were declared free from the virus infection.

Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
